Romanian Barbell Deadlift
This exercise, also known as the Barbell Straight Leg Deadlift, helps to sculpt your backside. For best results, keep the barbell close to your body throughout the move, do not round your back, and keep your shoulder blades down.
Romanian Barbell Deadlift
- Load desired amount of weight on barbell, and place on floor.
- Stand behind bar with feet slightly more than shoulder-width apart.
- Squat down and grab bar with an overhand grip, hands slightly more than shoulder-width apart.
- Stand back up, pulling bar up in front of thighs.
- Hinge over from hips, keeping back flat, pushing butt behind you, until bar is in front of calves.
- Squeeze glutes and push hips forward as you stand back up, bringing bar with you.
